Distance Learner Support Service- Library Services
What can the Distance Learner Support Service do for me?
We can post out books requested by you to a home or work address (UK and Ireland only). The books will be given an extended borrowing period, meaning that you will have them for an initial 3 weeks and then the books can be renewed for an additional 2 weeks at a time (as long as no-one else requests them).
We can also scan copies of journal articles or book chapters to email to you, if they are only available in print or if they are in high demand.
Am I eligible for the Distance Learner Support Service?
If you are a student carer and finding it difficult to come onto campus to visit the library, you are eligible for the service.
Please email inclusivesupport@shu.ac.uk to speak to the Inclusive Support team, who will refer you onto the service.
