Culture Connect is Sheffield Hallam’s largest one-to-one peer mentoring scheme which supports new students (UK, exchange and international) when they arrive at Sheffield Hallam. It runs from October to April – students can join for one or two semesters, depending on their course length.

Joining is a great opportunity to:

  • get to know someone through a supportive mentoring relationship
  • find out about university services and extracurricular activities
  • attend social activities and regular soft-skills training events with other members
  • develop their cultural awareness and learn about different traditions
  • prepare for work in diverse organisations and add to their CV
  • reflect on their learning and monitor their own behaviour
  • gain eligibility for the Hallam Award which is recognised by employers
