Do you want to get a head start with your career?

Would you like to:

  • meet employers to find out what they look for in candidates
  • gain tips and advice from final year students who are applying for graduate roles
  • work out how to use your time at University to build your skills and experience
  • find out about internships, placements and sources of work experience?

If so, Career Impact could be for you! Our successful Career Impact programme is being offered to first year students for the first time this year. The programme involves three workshops, led by the Careers and Employability Service in conjunction with employers and final year Career Impact students.

Workshop dates:

  Date Time: Group A Time: Group B
Session 1 Thurs 23 February 3 – 4.30pm 4.30 – 6pm
Session 2 Thurs 2 March 3 – 4pm 4.30 – 5.30pm
Session 3 Thurs 9 March 3 – 4pm 4.30 – 5.30pm

You have a choice of two times on each day.

Employers who have been involved with our Career Impact programme for final years include:

IBM, Enterprise-Rent-a-Car, PwC, Nissan, KPMG, NHS and many others

Eligibility

The programme is open to first year, home or EU, undergraduate students. You must be able to commit to attending and contributing to all three sessions.

Applications are particularly encouraged from students from a Widening Participation background (in receipt of the Sheffield Hallam Financial Bursary and/or participating in the Government’s National Scholarship Programme, or a first generation entrant to Higher Education), black and minority ethnic students, care leavers, disabled and LGBT students, mature students, and those who are carers for family members.
