The Sir Michael & Lady Morven Heller Bursary is intended to financially help you do something ‘completely outside of your area of academic study’ that you have always wanted to do, and which is not associated with your course but that could increase your chances of employability. The panel will be looking for applicants that demonstrate a long held passion in their area of interest and a commitment to personal development.

To be considered for the bursary, you must be a UK of ‘home’ status student in Year 2 of an undergraduate full time or part time course. The bursary will range from between £500 – £2,000 to be spent no later than July 2018.

Kate, who graduated this November, applied for the Heller bursary to help cover the costs of her travel, competition and membership fees.  Since being awarded the bursary, Kate has competed in the British Rowing Championships, The Henley Women’s Regatta, The Head of The River and the Nottingham Autumn Head. Kate has also attended the first assessment of the Team GB Olympic trials.

The 2017 Sir Michael and Morven Heller bursary is now open to all second year undergraduate students, who could get up to £2,000 to help them pursue something for which they have a real passion for.
