Are you looking to improve your academic writing skills? Do you have a piece of writing that you would like to discuss with others? Then why not go along to a Writing Forum at The Bridge.
The Writing Forums take place each week at both the City Campus and Collegiate and have been designed to help you to develop your academic writing skills.
At these supportive and informal small group sessions you will be able to discuss everything from grammar and punctuation through to clarity of expression and developing your critical writing voice
– all with the professional guidance from an academic skills tutor.
All you need to bring to the session is a USB stick containing a short piece of your writing – and a pen, paper and a willingness to participate!
To book a place at a session just visit The Bridge at https://blogs.shu.ac.uk/thebridge and click to book a workshop. Browse the workshops to find a Writing Forum which takes place at a convenient time and location for you – there are several sessions each week for you to choose from.
You will also be able to book on to workshops about academic referencing, carrying out literature reviews, editing your work, writing your research proposal and much more.
If you have not used the Unihub booking system before you will have to set up your preferences the first time you log in – this will take just a couple of moments and then you are good to go.
