If you’re coming to Sheffield Hallam this September after a break from education, then you may be feeling a mixture of emotions, from excitement to apprehension. Before any formal studying begins, Welcome Week is the perfect opportunity for you to settle into your new surroundings, find your way around and have some fun. During your first few days on campus, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to meet other mature students (current and new), get involved with university life and make the most of your time here.
With this in mind, look out for events and activities which are designed specifically for mature students during Welcome Week, including
Mature Students’ Lounge
Monday 21 – Friday 25 September, 12pm – 2pm
Rear of Heartspace, Level 2 Atrium, City Campus
Useful information is available all day in the Mature Students’ Lounge and you’ll be able to put your questions to a member of staff between 12-2pm. You can find out about support services, chat with current mature students and meet new mature students who are just starting at Sheffield Hallam.

Before coming to Sheffield Hallam and while studying here, you can also connect with other mature students through the Sheffield Hallam Mature Students Facebook Group.
The Sheffield Hallam Mature Students’ Committee have set up a new Facebook Group to allow current and prospective mature students to get to know each other, find out about what is happening in the university and provide a place where mature students can get informal support from each other.
