Although Easter is a time to relax and enjoy the time away from University, we know those of you with families may be looking for activities to keep your children entertained during the break! We recognised this and have had a search around to find out numerous activities available in Sheffield and the surrounding area in order to keep both yourselves and your children occupied. Although there are a lot of events happening, we have narrowed this down to the top 10 events we think you may be interested in!
Football Camp
Sheffield Hallam Active are working in partnership with Qualitas Football to deliver a football camp over the Easter period at the SHU Sports Park.
Suitable for children between 6-15 years old, the camps will run from 9am – 3pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays over 2 weeks from 30 March – 6 April. Call 07719 030301 or email admin@qualitassport.co.uk to make a booking.
Easter Egg Hunt
Easter wouldn’t be Easter without an egg hunt! Hidden around the Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet will be Easter Eggs, made by members of the Hamlet community. The Easter Egg Hunt is free as part of the usual entry price (accompanied children U16 get in FREE). Handmade Cinema

Meet the Gruffalo
Are your children fans of the Julia Donaldson creation the Gruffalo? Well this experience is just right. Come and meet the Gruffalo at the world’s first Gruffalo experience at Meadowhall from the 21st March till 12th April. Tropical Butterfly House
Sheffield’s Tropical Butterfly House and Wildlife & Falconry Centre are having Madagascar Madness over the Easter holidays. As well as getting the chance to meet animals such as lemurs, meerkats and lizard amongst other amazing animals, you can watch some spectacular shows featuring birds of prey, parrots and charismatic mammals. Easter Wild Play at Ecclesall Woods
The Wildlife Trust for Sheffield and Rotherham are bringing some fun to the woods with their Butterflies and Bees and Woodland Wizards, Fairies and Elves event at the Woodland Discovery Centre in Ecclesall Woods. The event costs only £5 per child and under 2’s get in for free with a paying sibling!
Easter Crafts
Sheffield Manor Lodge are running a traditional Easter craft fair which includes magic balloon chocolate treats, pom pom bunnines and Easter egg crates. The Discovery Centre and grounds will also be open for you to look around. For more information visit http://sheffieldmanorlodge.org/
Saturday Club
Every Saturday the Showroom Cinema run the Saturday club. Families can create their own characters and make music for silent films. The activity will then lead to the afternoon film starting at 1pm. Heeley City Farm
Visit Heeley City Farms Spring Fair on Saturday 11th April to see all the newborn animals such as piglets, lambs and goat kids.
