National Coming Out Day is an annual civil awareness day observed on 11 October each year, across many countries, including the UK. The day is an opportunity to celebrate coming out and to raise awareness of the LGBT community.
Sheffield Hallam University will be celebrating its very own Coming Out Day on Friday 24 October. The event will promote some brand new videos featuring staff and students who are out at Sheffield Hallam.
There’ll be coffee and cake and a chance to celebrate SHU’s recent 10/10 rating in the Gay by Degree guide from Stonewall.
To find out more about the support and opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people at SHU, see our LGBT students page on this blog.
