October is Black History Month. It is a month of recognition of the individuals and events that have shaped black history. Its origins date back to 1987 in the UK but it has become an international celebration.
SADACCA (Sheffield & District African Caribbean Community Association) has organised a programme of events throughout the month. The theme is ‘Peace in Troubled Times’. These events are open to all people and communities across the city.
Details of events and activities taking place in Sheffield between now and the end of the month can be found here.
More information about Black History Month is available on the Sheffield Council website.
