Here’s our day two report from Tania Clayton on what the Students’ Union is up to this week…
“Wow we have spoken to so many students in the Robert Winston Building and Collegiate Learning Centre today! We have all lost our voices and have nearly run out of information booklets (luckily another five boxes full have just arrived at the HUBS!).
Once again there has been lots of exciting things going on at the Students’ Union on Tour stalls. PC Bob Kenney of South Yorkshire Police was at the Collegiate Learning Centre today with a Heremes Kit. PC Bob was scanning students’ valuables and adding them to a database which would allow them to be tracked if stolen.
The Students’ Union President, Howard Duffy, was extremely excited to be on the stall at Robert Winston today. Whilst talking to some final year nursing students, Howard realised how important is it for the Students’ Union to leave the HUBS and talk to students in their faculty buildings, ensuring all students are aware of the opportunities available to them (these particular students wanted to learn more about sports volunteering… and now they know about the ongoing projects in need of volunteers).
We will be out and about again tomorrow! If you see a Students’ Union on Tour stall come and say hello!”
