Course Leader Induction Programme (Summer 2020)

The Academic Development & Diversity Team are hosting a range of online development sessions for course leaders, that aim to cultivate the skills and knowledge that staff will need for the role of course leader.  The Course Leader Induction Programme is running between 20th July to 28th August and a full list of the activities on offer can be found here.

STEER is pleased to be offering three workshops as part of this programme of events. The workshops focus on developing the evaluative mindset of course leaders and cover topics that will support them in creating robust and achievable course improvement plans. Monday 10th August 2020

Evaluation and Course Enhancement 

This session on evaluation and course enhancement will discuss why course evaluations are so crucial for enhancement, what course leaders need to consider while undertaking a course evaluation such as the Hallam Model. It will also discuss how a theory of change could be used in the process. The session will also provide staff an opportunity to discuss challenges around course evaluation.

Making a difference with data – Quantitative Survey Responses

The purpose of the workshop is to build participants’ capacity and capability for using quantitative evidence such as the National Student Survey effectively in approaches to help diagnose issues and determine the impact of work. There will be a particular focus on data confidence, sources of evidence and opportunities for exchange of knowledge.
