Advanced Training Research

As part of Sheffield Hallam University’s participation in the White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership, and in conjunction with the Sheffield Institute for Policy Studies, Dr Bob Jeffery has put together a new series of training seminars aimed at developing higher level research skills. Staff members are very welcome to attend.

11 December 2019 Prof Paul Hickman (Department of Psychology, Sociology and Politics) will deliver a seminar on Collaboration with Academic and Non-Academic Partners – Stoddart 7139, 2-4pm.  Further information here

Find out what CI is all about and learn how to improve processes using a suite of tools and techniques. The course is open to all staff. SHU Fest 2020 registration

Can you sing, dance, play an instrument or have another talent that you would like to showcase? SHU Fest is a week-long celebration of the talent and diversity of the University and we’re looking for performers. SHU Fest takes place in March but you will need to register your interest by Friday, 20 December.


People, Place and Policy – Social and Spatial Inequalities Conference 2020: Call for Papers

The 6th annual PPP conference will be held on the 1st July 2020 and welcomes papers which explore contemporary social and spatial inequalities across a broad range of public policy domains. The special theme for the 2020 conference is Division and Unity. Dr Mia Gray of the University of Cambridge will deliver the keynote address to open the conference.

Sheffield Half Marathon

Staff, students and alumni will be running the Sheffield Half Marathon in support of Sanctuary Scholarships as part of the Hallam Fund on Sunday 29 March 2020.
The Sanctuary Scholarships, which are match-funded by the University, recognise the determination, aspirations and resilience of asylum-seeking students and their academic abilities and potential to succeed.
By joining our team, you will be removing the barriers faced by students seeking asylum in the UK, proving them the opportunity to transform their lives through education.
