Suicide prevention course

The student wellbeing service is offering development sessions on Suicide Prevention. These are aimed at student-facing staff and are bookable via CORE. Sessions are available on 16 July and 9 September; more dates to follow. For more details, contact Anna Jarvis.

Open call for research theme leads at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre

The Advanced Wellbeing Reseach Centre (AWRC) is now taking expressions of interest for research theme leads. The three core research themes are:

  1. A healthy and active 100
  2. Living well with chronic disease
  3. Technological and digital innovations to promote independent lives

The call is open to all staff at Hallam, irrespective of department of faculty so if your research interest supports one of the key themes, please do apply. You can find out more guidance about what they are looking for in the AWRC further information document.

The call closes 31st August 2019. Application is via a CV and covering letter outlining the theme you would like to lead and why. Further information and where to apply can be found here. 

SHU Dementia Research Network 

The SHU Dementia Research network, which is a cross-faculty collaboration, will be meeting for the first time on Monday 2 September in room HC 1.47 in the Heart of the Campus, Collegiate campus. All staff and students are welcome to attend and should get in touch with Dr Jenni Brooks to confirm their interest.

Call for Readerships and Professorships 2019-2020

Applications should be discussed with Heads of Department/senior staff in departments and then with the Pro Vice-Chancellor.  Please contact Jill Murray to arrange a meeting with John Leach.

Leverhulme research grant application workshop

The Research Grants team in RIO have organised a half day workshop on 11 September, 9.30- 12.30, for researchers who are interested in submitting an application for the next round of Leverhulme funding. The aim of the workshop is to go through the funders requirements as well as Hallam’s approvals process and internal timelines for the call.

The workshop will take place in Charles street, 12.3.17. More information about how to book on will be released soon.
