Training and Opportunities: November

WriteFest 2019

November is Academic Writing Month, an academic write-a-thon where the global academic community supports each other to pledge their writing projects, record progress and share writing tips. Doctoral and Early Career Researchers can get involved via our contribution to WriteFest by signing up for writing events starting on 4 November, accessing resources and engaging via the #AcWriFest19 hashtag on Twitter.


Communicating with different audiences (in the social sciences)

On 13 November, 2 – 4 pm, Professor Christina Beatty, Professor of Applied Economic Geography (CRESR) will deliver a seminar on ‘communicating with different audiences’.

New database dimension training

The University has signed up to a new interdisciplinary data base, Dimensions Plus, and to introduce staff to the new system there will be two training sessions.

Monday 18 November, 10 – 11 am in Adsetts library, Room 6624. Please book your place here.

British Academy Funding Workshop

On 4 December, the Sheffield Business School are running a workshop on the British Academy Funding that is available to apply for where they will cover what funding is available, the assessment process and top tips for applying. Please see here for further information and to book your place.
