Staff news: March

Promotions

Congratulations to Dr John Francis, Dr Alison Twells and Dr Mike Coldwell who have all recently been awarded professorships.

New Starters

We welcome some new starters to the faculty with Tara Quinlin and Michelle Magill joining us as lecturers in Criminal Law and Practice, Robert Smallwood as a Senior Lecturer in DLC and Rachael Thornloe as a Senior Research Fellow in PSP.

We also welcome Owain Alexander Millar and Sehrish Tahir as Graduate interns to the faculty.

Professional Services away day

The professional services teams enjoyed an afternoon together on 13 February which gave staff the opportunity to meet colleagues doing similar roles within all three faculties and to collectively discuss working together moving forward. This was a successful event which saw discussions about the Transforming Lives strategy and how individuals can contribute in their roles as well as looking at the professional services capability framework and how to embed it in our everyday working practices.

Each month we will be showcasing individual members of staff and the work that they do both on and off site of the University. If you would like to feature in our Faculty in Focus section, then please complete a form and send it to !SSHComms. It would be great to highlight both academic and professional services staff and show the individual achievements that go on within the faculty.
