Early Careers Framework

The Sheffield Institute of Education is working with the Education Development Trust (EDT) to support a pilot of the Department of Education’s (DfE) Early Career Framework programme.

 

The programme aims to support teachers early on in their careers to build their confidence, knowledge, competences and motivation. Find out more here.


Youth Endowment Fund

A team of researchers from CRESR (Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research) , led by Professor Martin Coldwell from the Sheffield Institute of Education, have partnered with the Youth Endowment Fund to evaluate a set of projects aimed at stopping children and young                                                                                 people becoming involved in crime.

Established with a £200 million endowment fund from the Home Office and led by Impetus, in partnership with the Early Intervention Foundation and Social Investment Business, the Youth Endowment Fund is dedicated to supporting improved outcomes for children and young people. WonkHE Shortlisting

 

Professor Colin McCaig, Professor of Education Policy, has been shortlisted for a WonkHE award in the ‘access and admissions’ category for his blog, ‘Admissions: a contextualised tale of two reviews’. 

The winners will be announced at the WonkHE awards ceremony on Monday 4 November.

 


New report released on the National Collaborative Outreach Programme

Led by CFE Research, Professor Colin McCaig and Dr Manny Madriaga, Senior Lecturer in Education Studies, have been working on a report examining the National Collaborative Outreach Programme which started in 2017.  Phase one of the report has just been released                                                                                              where you can read their findings.
