Photograph selected for National photography competition

Dr Rob Storrar, Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography, took a photograph of an Icelandic glacier that went on to be selected as one of only 12 to go on display as part of a prestigious national photography exhibition organised by the National Geographic Society in London.

Dr Storrar took the photo whilst he was carrying out research in Iceland earlier this year.

The photo, titled “Fresh Out the Box”, shows sand and gravel being deposited on the snout of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier.

Dr Storrar said:

“I am thrilled to have my photo selected as part of this prestigious competition and to be included along so many striking photos.”
