Pete McKee new book with introduction by Dr Sue McPherson
Dr Sue McPherson, senior lecturer in nineteenth-century literature, was asked to write an introduction to Pete McKee’s new book ‘Council Skies’, following her talk at his honorary doctorate ceremony in November 2018 and due to her research which focuses on class and culture.
Artist Pete McKee said:
“I’m really proud of this book because I fought long and hard to stand on my own two feet and declare I was an artist. Council Skies represents my childhood, love of music, fashion, the working class, family and life’s simple pleasures.”
To celebrate the launch of the book, the artist will be hosting several signings around the UK and will be in his home town of Sheffield on 11 July, 6 – 8 pm at Ambulo, 48 Arundel Gate, S1 2PP.
