The first Sheffield Hallam Law Alumni Speed Networking Event took place on Monday 18 February, hosted by Sheryl Cruickshank and Gillian Pastuch of DLC and assisted by members of the Student Law Society.
12 SHU Law graduates from recent years returned to share their employment experiences and careers advice with 45 of our current final year Law and Law with Criminology students. Speakers on the night included solicitors; a barrister; an A-level law teacher; a charities manager; an Environment Agency manager; a Commercial Fast-Track Civil Servant; a business development and marketing assistant; and many more.
Current students found the event to be informative and enjoyable – with one final year student commenting that it was “an amazing networking event; I left the room with a different outlook on what I want to do after my law degree, and feeling more confident about the future”.
