62nd Congress on Narcotic Drugs

David Best spoke at the United Nations in Vienna in March at the 62nd Congress on Narcotic Drugs, where he talked about CRESR’s new initiative on Recovery Cities, an international partnership which also includes Doncaster Municipal Council.

David has also successfully secured two research grants; £209,000 for ‘Developing a recovery-oriented approach to gambling treatment: Developing a REC-CAP for gambling’over 2 years and £309,000 for ‘Online resources to support recovery from gambling addiction’ again over a 2 year period. The funding was collaboratively achieved with his colleague James Banks from Sheffield Hallam as well as Heather Wardle from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, William White from Chestnut Health Systems and Ana-Maria Blius from the University of Western Sydney.

Working Well Project

CRESR have won a contract for Greater Manchester’s Working Well Project to keep those with long term health conditions in work.
