You don\u2019t have to be coming to the conference to contribute, and we want to hear all sorts of views &#8211; from students, teaching staff, strategic managers, TeL staff and anyone else with an interest.: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>#SocMedHE15 Conference topic 1 &#8211; what are the myths about Social Media in learning? What&#8217;s the truth behind them? and how do we counter them? <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We&#8217;ve started off with an old favourite. This Tweetchat will demonstrate the concept of using Twitter to engage students in Teaching and Learning. Find her @MMUPreRegNurse1 on Twitter and search out #MMUThunder &amp; #SocMedHE15. She\u2019s posted a tweet about Father Christmas, if you favourite &amp; read it \u2013 then comment on it in the live Flashmob on Thursday 17<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> 12 &#8211; 1pm. She\u2019ll be following the discussion in the Thunderstorm on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>At the conference..<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Streaming Keynote!<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We\u2019re aiming to stream <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/socmedhe\/keynote\/?doing_wp_cron=1449782570.0129430294036865234375\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eric<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> live via YouTube, we\u2019ll put the link up here closer to the time<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Google Hangout<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And Maha Bali <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Bali_Maha\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">@Bali_Maha<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> from <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/virtuallyconnecting.org\/announcements\/we-are-vconnecting-w-ericstoller-suebecks-from-socmedhe15\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Virtually Connecting<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is running a Q&amp;A with Eric Stoller and Sue Beckingham live from the conference in Google Hangouts at some point after the keynote. If you haven\u2019t already, download Periscope on your device, and follow us @SocMedHE, you should get notifications when we start Periscoping..<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>What else?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One of our presenters will be presenting online, \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and another presents a resource and activity online Both will be looking out for questions from Twitter, use their tags \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Our Presenters want to know..<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Some of our presenters have a question to ask the conference. We\u2019re going to manage this two ways<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At the conference, we\u2019ll have the questions on the walls in the refreshment areas, and plenty of post-it notes (old skool!) <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And so we can include our external viewers &#8211; we&#8217;ve set up a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1mn62vkd-DR1ocUnnp5WNit0AGKu7liWhn1hX-ktRrYE\/edit?usp=sharing\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">google.doc<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with the questions, add your answers. It might get unwieldy, but we\u2019ll cross that bridge when we reach it \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What are we going to do with the questions and answers? Well of course everyone with the link will be able to take them away. We\u2019ll probably neaten them up and publish them as a part of the conference proceedings next year, under Creative Commons so we can all benefit. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>And Finally the fun stuff..<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Our ears will probably bleed if we hear Noddy Holder one more time..<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The vibe at the pre-conference dinner is on your shoulders! We&#8217;re putting together a Spotify playlist where you decide what we listen to. Make your suggestions using #SocMedHEXmasSongs, and we\u2019ll add it to the playlist in the first hour (unless it\u2019s hideous) Our ears are in your hands.. And of course we&#8217;ll share the playlist via Twitter, so you can \u00a0pretend you&#8217;re there.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Make the world better with a sweater! <\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.savethechildren.org\/site\/c.8rKLIXMGIpI4E\/b.9208389\/k.EDAA\/Spread_the_Joy__Make_the_World_Better_With_a_Sweater.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Yes it\u2019s Save the Children\u2019s Christmas Jumper Day 2015<\/span><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Don\u2019t be shy!
