The first three years of the conference were all held at Sheffield Hallam and then in 2018 the conference was taken on by the social media in HE community and it has been held at a different institution each year since then. We are delighted to announce that the 10th SocMedHE conference, #SocMedHE24, will be hosted at Sheffield Hallam University.

The 2015 conference theme was “Finding our Social Identity” and the theme of identity became a recurrent and key feature of #SocMedHE over the years. In bringing the conference back to SHU for the 10th conference, the theme is “Have we found our Social Identity” and allows us to connect back to the original conference, the topics presented and discussed, and reflect on how we have developed teaching and learning with social media since 2015. You might want to consider this at an individual, group or institutional level.

The conference is community owned and therefore we will be charging a low conference fee to provide as many colleagues as possible the opportunity to join us in Sheffield to celebrate the 10th conference. The first three conferences at Sheffield Hallam also provided students with the opportunity to apply for one of 10 funded places and we are offering this again for #SocMedHE24.

Conference timings for Thursday 19 December:
Registration and refreshments from 9.00
Keynote and sessions 9.30-17.00

Booking:
£95 per delegate at the SHU Online Store.
As a community owned event we are keeping the fee as low as possible.

Student Funded Places:
The call for student places has now closed and applicants have been informed of the outcome of their application.

Call for abstracts

The call for abstracts is now closed and we are developing the programme for the day.
