Skills Development Sessions

You can improve your academic study skills through a range of sessions at both Adsetts and Collegiate Libraries:

Our interactive workshops cover skills such as academic writing, referencing, time management, and presentations, for up to 12 participants, and include practical tips and strategies.

Our small group forums are for up to 4 participants and offer an opportunity for you to discuss work and study skills alongside other students, with the guidance of a Learning Advisor. Giving and receiving feedback to other participants can help you to consider new strategies.

Other opportunities are provided by Mathematics and Statistics Support, Assistive Technology, the University English Scheme, the Library, and by Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union.

Students who have declared a learning difference like dyslexia, or a disability, or by referral can also book a 30 minute tutorial with a Specialist Learning Advisor to discuss any academic skills topic.

You can check out the full list of our workshop topics and forum topics, or follow the options above to find out about forthcoming sessions.
