Remote offer at the Skills Centre

In line with the University decision to transition to the online provision of teaching and learning over the course of this week, the Skills Centre is now offering a remote service to ensure that we continue to effectively support your studies:

1-1 appointments

You can book a remote 30 minute one to one appointment with an Academic Skills Adviser – these can take place via telephone or using Blackboard Collaborate (a web chat tool that allows screen sharing). View our current appointments or for up-to-date availability see Unihub.

We offer a limited number of appointments after 5pm from Tuesday-Thursday: view our calendar to book.

Webinars

We also offer online webinars, on topics including academic writing, critical writing and research skills. View our calendar for a full schedule of webinars and to book your place.

Screencasts

We are in the process of recording screencasts of our most popular academic skills workshops, which will be available shortly via our online study guides.

Online resources and screencasts

  • We have a range of in-depth self-study guides covering academic skills topics, including downloadable worksheets and ‘quick-read’ resources for studying in short bursts. Visit our resources pages for a full list of topics.

Studiosity

Our remote service will continue to run throughout the year, so please keep checking our website to see what we have to offer.
