There is an exciting opportunity for up to two members of academic staff to join the University’s Board of Governors from 1 August 2025. The Board is committed to the recruitment of members from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines. The successful applicant will be eligible to serve a term of office on the Board from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2029.
The role and time commitment
Staff members provide the Board of Governors with valuable insights and experiences and have the same duties and responsibilities as external independent members. Academic staff members of the Board are expected to contribute an objective view to discussions that will steer the strategic development of the University. All members of the Board are expected to attend six in-person meetings each academic year and the Board’s annual strategy and development events. Staff members will usually be invited to become a member of at least one of the Board’s committees during their term of office.

Expressions of interest (maximum 500 words) should reference your experience and contribution to high quality teaching & learning, research and /or scholarship, and your ability to fulfil the purposes of this role.
