The University is committed to addressing the degree attainment gap, and will be hosting a series of events to challenge and diversify thinking and practice over the coming months. Following Decolonising Phenomenology, the next event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 27th March 12-2pm in Cantor 9003, when Stella Jones-Devitt and Dr Liz Austen, will be presenting on ‘Critical Whiteness’.
In the first half of the session, Stella and Liz will discuss a project which tested the use of digital storytelling in several ways which will then be followed by a short Q&A. During the second half of the session, guests will be introduced to further research on critical Whiteness at Hallam and invited to take a free copy of Why I’m no longer talking to White people about race by Reni Eddo-Lodge.
The event is open to staff and students, and will be of particular interest to those involved in initiatives aiming to address the degree attainment gap alongside researchers looking at different approaches.
Light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
