Student engagement with Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) – Event 22nd July 2013

We are holding an event on Student Engagement with TEL on the 22nd July 2013, 12 – 4, with contributions from external facilitators from NUS, HEA and Liverpool John Moores University.

Places on this free event are limited to 50, and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

We’ve designed the event to help participants consider student engagement with TEL from three different angles: The student view; the principles of engagement, and the practicalities of engagement.

  • Jess Poettcker the Student Engagement Consultant (TEL) from the National Union of Students will speak about student expectations of learning technology, and how they can contribute to innovations in its use in teaching and learning. She will provide both SHU and National contexts.
  • Abbi Flint, an HEA Academic Development Officer will run a workshop designed to encourage reflection on the principles of engagement, and promote the view of students as partners. Participants will be encouraged to consider this in relation to TEL in their own teaching.
  • Alex Spiers (@alexgspiers) Learning Technology Developer from Liverpool John Moores will facilitate a second workshop that considers the practicalities of student engagement in TEL.

Participants will be encouraged to share their own practices for engaging students in TEL and develop their ideas further.

We would really like to  see you there, so book your place on the event.  We will confirm your place on the event by e-mail.  Booking will close on Thursday 18th July.

  1. Is the event full? when I tried to register, the message I got was “The form “Engagement with Technology Enhanced Learning – Event” is no longer accepting responses.”

    • Hi Anna, the event isn’t full, I will ensure your name is on the list and check out the problem with the booking form.

      thanks
