Case study: Feeding forward using audio feedback

woman wearing headphones while reading a paperIn this case study, a tutor in a final year Research Methods module provided an audio recording for each individual student as feedback on a formative piece of work. Recordings were created using a simple recording device that could be plugged in to the computer or free-standing, and then uploaded to the module’s Blackboard site and released to students. Students were able to listen and review feedback alongside their original submissions, and download and store the recording for future use. The approach was received well by most students and the quality of feedback was found to have improved.

You can read more about this approach in the two-page case study entitled: Feeding forward using audio feedback.

The tutor also discusses this approach in a video entitled: Audio Feedback (8 min 14 sec).
