RefMe is changing and so are we – Welcome to the new RefWorks

RefMe, the online referencing app that some of you may have used is undergoing some changes. RefME has been acquired by Chegg, an education company that operates another citation tool, Cite This For Me. So now, RefMe will become Cite This For Me from 28 February onwards.

For students who have an account with RefMe, your accounts will be migrated to Cite This For Me. Until 1 July, 2017 you should be able to login in to your account using your credentials and access all your bibliographies. After, you’ll need to subscribe to them (paid for premium account) to access all your work. Find out more using this link: RefMe transition to Cite This For Me FAQs.

You may want to consider changing from RefME to RefWorks an online tool paid for by the Library which will let you do the things you have done in RefME and more. Follow this link RefME is changing further information to see further information on the changes to RefME and options available to:

  • sign up for the new RefWorks
  • move any references you have saved in RefME to RefWorks (or another online tool) or  have a look at this guide for moving your references out of RefME.
  • add new folders and references
  • create a reference list in APA 6th

Note: A post on Legacy RefWorks and how to use it has been published previously. If you use Legacy RefWorks and you want to start using the new RefWorks, please do not use the same password for New RefWorks. This will cause issues if you want to use Write-n-Cite with both versions.
