Did you know… there are new features to printing in learning centres? Print from USB and use your own paper or other media.

In learning centres you can now print directly from your USB stick, and also print onto your own media such as paper, card and acetate*, using colour copiers. Here’s how:

To print a piece of work directly from a USB device, without having to find a PC, you just need to locate a colour copier and login using your student ID and password. Then plug in your USB device and wait for the Userbox to open on the screen. Select the documents you wish to print, then press the blue photocopy button.

If you want to print onto your own media, you can do so up to A3 size, in either black and white or colour format, and either single or double sided. To do so you need to send your work to the ‘Use_Own_Paper‘ print queue (listed alongside the other printers when printing from a learning centre PC). Then you can just go to the nearest colour copier, login with your usual username and password, press Release and select the job you want to print. It will then ask you to insert your media in the bypass tray, and then your work should print out straight away.

If you need any more information search or browse for ‘How do I print?’ or ‘Can I print using my own media?’ in shuspace, or contact the Learning Centre Helpdesk.

Remember, you can also release prints using your mobile phone – read our previous article on how to do this.

*acetate must be purchased from the Helpdesk.
