Potentially £2000 of funding available for second year undergraduates at Sheffield Hallam

This bursary is back again for 2013. Don’t miss out – the Deadline is 28 February

Second year UK undergraduates (full and part time) are eligible to apply for cash to learn new skills thanks to a new Sheffield Hallam bursary.

Funding is available through the new Heller Bursary for students to pursue an ambition or dream which may help you in getting a job, but something which is completely unrelated to your field of study. The bursary is offered by Sir Michael Heller, an Honorary Doctor at Sheffield Hallam, and his wife Lady Morven, who together run a charitable foundation for arts, education and medicine.

Between £500 and £2,000 is being made available to a number of students each year.

To apply you will need to submit one side of A4 (350 to 400 words) with the application form, describing what you want to spend the money on, explaining why you should receive it and how you think it will increase your employability. You also need to show how much it would cost. Shortlisted candidates will need to prepare a short presentation about their idea. If you are successful you will be asked to feedback on your experiences at a future date.

For more information and an application form you can search ‘Heller Bursary’ on shuspace or call the Student Financial Support Team on 0114 225 2184. You can also email sfs@shu.ac.uk
