If you ever have a problem logging into shuspace or Blackboard – perhaps you’ve forgotten your password, or you’re a new student not sure how it all works – there is an easy way to sort the problem out without having to contact IT Help.
Just visit the ‘I can’t login’ page which will allow you to set a new password. It will ask you a few questions and hopefully get you into shuspace and Blackboard in no time. Although you should choose a password that is very secure (a combination of letters, numbers and capitals), Blackboard can be a bit picky about some characters so try and steer clear of using ones like % and £.
You will need your student ID (the one that appears on your SHUcard, e.g. 12345678) to set a new password, but when you next login you will need to use your ‘User ID’. This is your student ID but if it begins with a ‘1’ change this to ‘a’, or change ‘2’ to ‘b’, i.e. if your SHUcard shows 12345678 your User ID would be a2345678.
If this doesn’t work, there’s a chance there might be a problem with your enrollment, in which case you should contact your Faculty HelpDesk for support , either in person, by phone or email (contact the University switchboard on 0114 225 5555 or visit the Faculty page in the Information Directory, under My Course, if you need these details).
