Death Café 2016

As part of Dying Matters awareness week 2016, the Sheffield Hallam palliative and end of life care interest group, in partnership with St Luke’s Hospice, held a range of events to enable students and staff to think about and talk more openly about death and dying.

Dying Matters awareness week – 9 to 15 May 2016

During the week we will be running live Tweet chats focusing on different topics each day that relate to conversations about end of life care, each day we will post the days topic below, please Tweet and join the conversation.

Monday 9 May  – Create your ‘bucket list’

What do you want to do before you die? Make a bucket list of what you plan to achieve or do.

Tuesday 10 May  – Advance Care Planning

Advance Care Planning is very important to ensure people have a dignified death, but what it is? why is it so important? and how can we help people with advance care planning?

Wednesday 11 May – Death Café 

Heart of the Campus, Collegiate Crescent at 11am – 2pm

Thursday 12 May –  Digital legacy

Many people have social media accounts such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, blogs. With emerging technology we also download music, films and books. Have you ever thought about what will happen to these when you die?

Friday 13 May – Final word Friday

What will you take forward from this week? Summarise this in one final word
