OUR AIM AND RESEARCH

Our Aim

The aim of SHARe is to create a cross-university network of SHU staff and students with the common and shared goal of celebrating, facilitating, perpetuating and disseminating research activity in the field of appetite regulation, obesity, weight management, eating behaviour and all associated areas.

With the rising prevalence of obesity and related comorbidities (type 2 diabetes , cardiovascular disease, certain cancers and sleep apnoea ) there is an increasing demand for research, demonstrating impact and accessing grants in this area. Expertise in appetite at SHU resides in the fields of Nutrition, Dietetics, Exercise Science, Psychology, Biomedical Science and Health. SHU colleagues and doctoral students who teach and research in these areas share a collective interest in the workings of this research cluster.

2) Hedonics, Foods and Feeding

3) Eating Behaviours: Traits and States
