A University-wide Early Career Researcher (ECR) Network has been established at Sheffield Hallam University to enhance our research community and provide support for those relatively new to research.
The SHU ECR Network will provide opportunities for ECRs to:
- meet other ECRs across the University and benefit from peer support
- present their research and form multidisciplinary collaborations
- provide feedback on ‘life as an ECR at SHU’ – to support further development of the Sheffield Hallam Researcher Development (SHaRD) programme
Details of the 2019-20 Seminar Series can be found here: ECR Network Events 2019-20
For the network, we are not using a strict definition of an ECR and invite all staff who are new – or returning – to research and want to engage with other active researchers.
A core group, comprising representation from all 4 faculties, will help promote the network in their local areas, communicate information (2-way) to inform SHaRD and related SHU policy, and help run events.
If you would like to get involved with shaping the network or have suggestions for the type of activities and events you would find useful please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org
Details of internal funding opportunities designed to include and develop ECRs can be found on the Creating Knowledge hub here: https://blogs.shu.ac.uk/creating/internalfunding/
