The programme is aimed at: The main target audience is new staff without previous research supervisor experience and/or research supervisors who have yet to supervise a doctoral programme to completion.
Overall programme aims: To disseminate information relevant to the process of the supervision of doctoral researchers, to assist staff to develop and enhance effective research supervision skills and to facilitate the development and sharing of good practice.
Programme Leaders: Professors Lisa Hopkins, John McAuley, Doug Cleaver and Dr Nicola Palmer supported by the Doctoral School.
The programme will run online for the 2021/2022 academic year in November, January and April. The programme will be delivered using materials and discussion boards/wikis on a dedicated Blackboard Site and there will be two live sessions via Blackboard Collaborate for each cohort. Attendees will be attached to the Blackboard site prior to the start of the cohort they have secured a place for.

Applications will be approved by the relevant Head of Research Degrees (not line managers or subject group leaders).
