Both these steps are mandatory and failure to complete them will result in you being unable to fully enrol and therefore delay access to any funding.<\/p>\n<h1><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Part 1<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; send copies of your certificates to our Admissions Team<\/h1>\n<p>You will receive an email from Sheffield Hallam University requesting copies of your <strong>original certificates<\/strong>. If you have not received this please contact teachingadmissions@shu.ac.uk, check your junk folders before contacting us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note you will not receive an acknowledgement email from the admissions team once these have been received\/processed. Please do not resend as this will cause further backlog in processing. The admissions team will contact you if further information is required.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You need to provide us copies of your certificates as early as possible before the start of your course.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t have your original certificates please see the guidance below.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">GCSE Qualification<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you do not have original GCSE certificates, <strong>you must obtain copies*<\/strong> from the Awarding Body as early as possible and prior to your enrolment. Please note that you must allow sufficient time for these to be replaced (this can take up to 8 weeks).\u00a0 The following link provides further information on how to obtain duplicate certificates. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/replacement-exam-certificate\">https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/replacement-exam-certificate<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Degree Qualification<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you are aware that you<strong> will not receive<\/strong> your original degree certificate <strong>prior to the start of the course<\/strong>, you can by agreement, use an official university transcript (accessible online via your University) or a letter of confirmation provided by your University. This evidence <strong>must<\/strong> show the University logo, award date and degree classification.<\/p>\n<p>Please contact teachingadmissions@shu.ac.uk to discuss this further.<\/p>\n<h1><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Part 2<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; bring your certificates to a DBS ID Check session<\/h1>\n<p>As stipulated by the Department for Education (DfE) we are required to verify your <strong>original certificates<\/strong> in person. This face to face verification is a condition of your enrolment and until this check is completed you will unable to fully enrol.<\/p>\n<p>If you are aware that you<strong> will not receive<\/strong> your original degree certificate <strong>prior to the start of the course<\/strong>, you can by agreement, use an official university transcript (accessible online via your University) or a letter of confirmation provided by your University. This evidence <strong>must<\/strong> show the University logo, award date and degree classification. You will be required to bring in your original certificate once you receive it.<\/p>\n<p>Frequently\u00a0Asked Questions<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q. I won\u2019t have my degree certificate when I come to enrol what should I do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. This only applies to students graduating this summer\/Autumn, students who have graduated previously must have their original degree certificate to enrol. If you do not have your Degree certificate you will need contact the University to order a replacement. Contact your university to find out when your results will be published, how you can access your transcript and when you will get your degree certificate. You can use a printed transcript to enrol as long as it contains the University logo, award date and degree classification. You cannot fully enrol without proof of your degree classification. You will still be asked to provide your original degree certificate when you receive it as it is a course requirement that we see the original.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q. Can I use an alternative (e.g. a letter from school\/college) as proof of my qualifications?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A.
