It’s been a great afternoon and I’ve enjoyed interacting with visitors, especially the children. It’s great to see how enthusiastic they are about nutrition. (Stacey Munford, student participant 2010)
The Sheffield Hallam University Annual Nutrition Fair first opened its doors in 2004 and the scale and success of the event has increased year on year. This year we will have around 70 final year degree students presenting on 25 topics relating to food, nutrition, diet and health.
The academics supervising this event are Registered Nutritionists and Associate Nutritionists and many of the students are studying on courses accredited by the Association for Nutrition. Our students have studied hard to produce evidence-based information on a wide range of topics.
The fair is open to everyone and offers tasting opportunities, interactive activities and information about diet, food, health and lifestyle. This event is designed to help people make informed decisions about nutrition and lifestyle.
This brilliant event strikes exactly the right balance – food should be creative, fun and entirely healthy! (Simon Ranger, student participant 2010)
If you are confused by all the conflicting advice on diets or simply fancy trying out different kinds of food, the Nutrition Fair has something for everyone.
- Do you want to find out about the health benefits of fish?
- Would you like to learn more about alcoholic drinks?
- Do you want to know how to make healthy food swaps?
- Would you like to learn how to make healthy meals that don’t break the bank?
- Do you want to know more about food allergies?
The nutrition fair was a fun event to take part in and a great way of putting what we have learnt into practice. (Jenna Rymer, student participant 2010)
