In the 14 years the Nutrition Fair has been running, we have seen hundreds of students present their stalls to the public. Back in 2004 there were only 24 students on the module (then called Applied Nutrition 2). This year there are 70 students enrolled on the module (now called Communicating Nutrition and Health Messages) and the students now work in teams to produce their stalls.
The planning process for each Nutrition Fair starts right at the beginning of semester 1. Students undertake a rigorous programme of pitching their ideas, producing academic literature reviews, planning and producing their own leaflets and trialling their recipes. The students are supported throughout the process by Registered Nutritionists and Associate Nutritionists.
Each year the day itself attracts attention from the local media. Examples of our press coverage over the years can be found here:
