Coping with exam stress – Getting Organised

Differentiate between what is important and what is urgent – then tackle important things first.

Be realistic about what can be achieved in the time that you have- use an activity timetable to help with this – see ‘Activity Timetable’ page.

Break the task down into smaller, more manageable tasks

Set yourself specific, measurable targets

Remove or avoid sources of distraction

Start work promptly

Complete things that are almost finished- it will make you feel good!

Do not attempt to work for too long before having a break

Check that you have reached the targets and set new ones

Leave work at an interesting stage at the end of a study session

Make sure that you add in a pleasurable activity after your work session
