Chaplaincy and faith advice

At Sheffield Hallam we regard wellbeing as encompassing the whole person. This includes matters of religion, belief, faith and spirituality. Our chaplains and faith advisors are available to offer advice and support, prayer and encouragement, and a non-judgmental listening ear. We can’t promise answers to all your questions, but we do promise that we will listen in confidence, share our experience, and do our best to help you move forward. We’re happy to talk with you whether or not you regard yourself as a religious person.

Our work includes:

  • Helping you to explore questions about religion and belief, faith and life
  • Providing space at our Multifaith Centre for prayer, worship and meditation
  • Organising events and activities, such as lunches, trips and discussion groups
  • Providing information on local places of worship, such as churches, gurdwaras, mosques, synagogues, and temples
  • Building and facilitating links between different student religious societies
  • Promoting understanding between people of different life-stances, encouraging dialogue, and celebrating the diversity of our university community.
