Welcome to the first #HallamBigRead19!

‘It will be alright, love. You and me together. We’ll be all right and you can stay with Auntie Maureen for the foreseeable as far as I’m concerned. You’re not to worry.’
My Name is Leon, chapter 69, page 13.
The 2019/20 academic year is upon us, welcome to Hallam!
You may have seen something called ‘the Big Read’ mentioned on our Twitter page @HallamLibrary
So, what’s is all about…?
All our new starters are being given a free copy of our first ever Big Read book – My Name is Leon.
If you have moved or are about to move into our accommodation, you’ll find a gift waiting on your bed in the shape of a copy of Kit de Waal’s book.
‘Leon’ needs some new friends – he’s very excited to meet you all too!
So what if I’m not staying in Hallam accommodation?
No problem, you can collect your book from either of our two libraries
  • Adsetts Library Level 4 (City campus)
  • Collegiate Library (Collegiate campus)
So, whether you want to start a book group, become a member of the Reading Society or just save Leon for bedtime reading it’s up to you! It’s a great way to start a conversation…
You can also find more inspiration for bedtime reading on our LibGuide here
We can’t wait to hear what you think!
