Data protection allows us to use personal data for research with appropriate safeguards in place under the legal basis of public tasks that are in the public interest. The University has designed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shu.ac.uk\/about-this-website\/privacy-policy\">privacy policy<\/a> to inform you of your data protection rights.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">All University research is reviewed to ensure that participants are treated appropriately, and their rights are respected. This study was approved by UREC with\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Converis<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> number: ER5217987.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The conversations undertaken in the Listening Rooms are recorded and read in their entirety by <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">our researcher<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and the transcriber at Rainbow Transcriptions<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Transcripts are\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">anonymised<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0and round table stakeholders read a subsection of data.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The University has a duty of care to all participants undertaking conversations in the Listening Rooms, so details of support resources will be provided, should any conversation raise topics of concern.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Legal basis for research for studies:\u00a0 The University undertakes research as part of its function for the community under its legal status.
