Blended learning space

Blended learning describes a combination of any proportion of face-to-face and online learning activities as part of a coherent course offer.

The potential of technology in the classroom and in non-classroom situations to support learning is growing rapidly due to greater access to accessible and usable personal technologies, institutional network capacity (e.g. wifi and storage) and more digitally confident staff and students.

However, digital fluency in applying technologies to support learning and the development of student capabilities remains uneven. The Digital Learning in Practice toolkit explores these ideas more fully.
