LTA Conference

 

‘Student Success – from conversation to transformation’

Sheffield Hallam University held the annual Learning and Teaching Conference (SHULT18) on 10th and 11th July 2018 at City Campus – Charles Street and the recently refurbished Arundel Gate Court.

SHULT18 aimed to provide opportunities for staff, engagement in strategic conversations around the student journey to, through and out of Higher Education with discussions centering on three main tracks:

  • Student retention or persistence – and the range of factors that can enhance students’ timely degree completion.
  • Student attainment which pertains to the ways in which all students – regardless of background, are empowered to do well academically.
  • Student outcomes which refer to the educational, societal and life effects that are the end result of the student journey through higher education.

The conference welcomed delegates from a wide range of higher education backgrounds, including; senior management, institutional researchers, planners, educational developers, pedagogic researchers, and professional/managerial service colleagues.

Hosted by the Directorate of Learning Enhancement and Academic Development (LEAD) at Sheffield Hallam University our programme covered a wide range of campfires/ignites/walkshops and speakers from external institutions. Please find below a range of resources from the programme:

Hosted by Christina Hughes, Provost, Sheffield Hallam University and Principal Fellow, Higher Education Academy, we welcomed our external colleagues.

Posters were on display throughout the conference however some of our presenters were available to host casual conversations about their posters with interested colleagues.
