Update on IT for start of teaching

September 19th, 2017 | Posted by Jennifer Kennedy in IT preparations for teaching

Over Summer, DTS has been working on providing the IT equipment and software required for teaching and learning in the new academic year. There are some issues about licensing and provision of a few items of software and work on some AV installations which are being discussed with the relevant teaching staff. Apart from these, everything is on track to be delivered for the start of the academic year.

The series of start of year drop in sessions is continuing for academics to ask questions and receive advice from senior DTS staff about any issues they have discovered in testing.

We are receiving an exceptionally high number of requests for hardware and software at the moment. Thank you for your patience while we prioritise requirements for teaching to ensure a smooth start to the academic year. We will be contacting staff who have made other requests through the IT Expenditure Board (ITEB) or different routes to find out more about their needs which will be assessed in October.
