The new Staff Remote Desktop is now live for all staff to use when off campus. The new service has the same software and settings as the Windows 7 Managed Desktop and is available from multiple devices, including PCs, Apple Macs, iPads, iPhones and Android devices.

When you first use it, please make sure you read the instructions (linked to from the landing page) about installing it and configuring your preferences.

This remote desktop has been available as a beta for staff for a few months to let them become familiar with the service and to give IS&T feedback about it. This process went very well – over 400 different people used the Beta service and we had lots of positive comments about it.

Since becoming the live service over 650 individual members of staff have now used the service.

For information regarding the Staff Remote Desktop Beta please see our previous blog article.
