{"id":624,"date":"2017-08-24T09:56:46","date_gmt":"2017-08-24T09:56:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/hwbstaffnews\/?p=624"},"modified":"2017-08-24T09:56:46","modified_gmt":"2017-08-24T09:56:46","slug":"service-improvement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.shu.ac.uk\/hwbstaffnews\/2017\/08\/24\/service-improvement\/","title":{"rendered":"Student -led service improvement \u2013 Level 6 IPE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Service Improvement blog developed using student work.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each year around 1,000 students from 14 different professions undertake an IPE module all about service improvement.\u00a0Amongst other skills, they learn about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>collaborative leadership<\/li>\n<li>co-production with service users and stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>tools and techniques for service improvement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They are encouraged to develop their own service improvement idea to use for their assessment, in the form of an assignment. Our students came up with such fantastic ideas that we began to collate them in a service improvement eBook. This year we have progressed to a blog, take a look at some of the brilliant work our future healthcare professionals have achieved. <a href=\"https:\/\/serviceimprovementbook.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Visit the Service Improvement Book.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Inter-professional education is an important area of learning for our students in order to prepare them for collaborative practice in a variety of health and social care settings.\u00a0This year qualified district nurses also joined our pre-registration learners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Service Improvement blog developed using student work.
