\"\"<\/a>We are at the beginning of the process in designing what we are calling \u2018the Hallam Model\u2019. Our aim is to produce a set of principles which capture what is innovative and unique\u00a0about the student experience at Hallam. This will apply to all taught courses, irrespective of subject choice or intended career pathway, including undergraduates and postgraduates.<\/p>\n

There are a range of actions to be completed by the end of April 2019 to allow implementation for this academic year and beyond. Key milestones for implementation will be set once the principles have been agreed.<\/p>\n

What is it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Hallam Model is a series of principles which underpin the distinctive, applied learning experienced by Hallam students, irrespective of their subject choice or their intended career pathway. This is a key priority for us and there are a range of actions to be completed by the end of April 2019 to allow implementation to begin in 2019\/20. The Hallam Model will apply to all students, but through a phased approach beginning with UG courses. It is closely linked with our highly skilled employment priority, which sets the ambition for\u00a0all our undergraduate courses from 2019\/20 to embed work-related learning at every level of the degree.<\/p>\n

Why are we doing it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our\u00a0Transforming Lives<\/em>\u00a0strategy sets out our vision to be the world\u2019s leading applied university; the Hallam Model is key in helping us to deliver on this. Being clear about the distinctiveness of our student experience offer is also timely as we operate in an increasingly competitive HE sector. We want to use this as an opportunity to think afresh about how to make our offer distinctive \u2013 through highlighting and developing where we are already sector leaders, as well as exploring new innovative ideas to enhance the student experience at Hallam.<\/p>\n
