This important and innovative\u00a0project seeks to equip students and staff across the university with the skills to potentially save a life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">The project is led by a group of 30 student volunteers from within the faculty trained to deliver Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), utilising the BHF Call, Push, and Rescue kit. They are holding sessions to enable participants to gain the knowledge and confidence needed to provide CPR support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">There are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year. Without help, the person will die within minutes, but effective and immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can help double the chance of survival in some cases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">The BHF is committed to improving survival rates and has launched its Nation of Lifesavers campaign to train 5 million people in CPR skills by 2020. Together we can make a positive difference across the UK.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">There will be a number of sessions provided throughout the year.
